Cambridge University Press & Assessment

Digital Marketing Communication Specialist

R516,700 - R630,000/yr

Bring a renowned global brand to life online – connecting educators and learners across Sub‑Saharan Africa.

We are Cambridge University Press & Assessment, a world-leading academic publisher and assessment organisation and a proud part of the University of Cambridge.

If you’re excited to shape how educators, learners and partners discover our qualifications, resources and stories across Sub‑Saharan Africa (SSA), this role is for you.

About the role

You’ll lead integrated digital marketing and communications across our Sub‑Saharan Africa portfolio (Assessment & Qualifications, Resources, Partnerships, and English), turning customer insight into campaigns that build brand, drive engagement, and support key launches. You’ll grow your influence across SSA markets, experiment with new formats, and turn data into ideas that help educators and learners succeed.

Additional responsibilities and accountabilities include:

  • Plan and run end‑to‑end digital campaigns across email (HubSpot) and social media, including audience segmentation, automation, content scheduling and A/B testing.
  • Create and curate compelling multi‑media content for web, blogs, newsletters and social, including managing video production and edits.
  • Measure and optimise performance using analytics (e.g., Google Analytics and HubSpot reporting), translating KPIs into clear actions to improve ROI and customer experience.
  • Collaborate and uphold standards – work closely with SSA and global colleagues, champion brand consistency, strengthen processes (briefing, review, sign‑off), and upskill others in digital best practice.

This position has been classified as a hybrid role, requiring the selected candidate to typically spend 40-60% of their time collaborating and connecting face-to-face at their dedicated location. Aside from our hybrid principles, other flexible working requests will be considered from the first day of employment, including other work arrangements should you require adjustments due to a disability or long-term health condition.

About You

Minimum requirements

  • Degree‑level education and a recognised digital marketing qualification.
  • 5+ years in digital marketing and communications roles.
  • Strong proficiency in Canva, HubSpot (or similar) and analytics (e.g., Google Analytics).
  • Proven social media strategy, content creation and community management skills.
  • Skilled in video production management and digital storytelling.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication; adaptable to different audiences.
  • Strong project management; able to juggle multiple deadlines.
  • Flexibility to support customers at key times (e.g., exam periods).

If you meet the above minimum requirements, we encourage you to apply. Your application will be even stronger if you can also demonstrate the following desirable criteria:

  • SEO knowledge; web/CMS basics and HTML.
  • Photoshop/video‑editing skills.
  • Experience with Monday.com, Microsoft 365 and MS Teams.
  • Confidence training colleagues
  • Familiarity with SSA markets and cultural nuances.
  • Experience in the education sector.
